Happy New Year!

It has been so nice outside lately. What happened to winter?! Not that I'm complaining. We are all enjoying the long break from school, and work. Alanna loves to play outside, especially on the swing.

Last night we enjoyed our annual NYE fondue with steak, chicken, shrimp and veggies, followed by chocolate fondue, YUM! The boys have been wanting to get Rock Band for quite awhile, and we finally let them buy it with money they earned. Braden spotted the FedEx man driving down the street and was ecstatic when he stopped at our house with his package...2 days early!! Guess what we played until midnight! Braden was on guitar, I was on drums, Holden on Bass and Alanna sang (well, we didn't have her chord plugged in, but she didn't know the difference). Pretty cool!

Christmas Day

I think Alanna's favorite gift is her princess dress up kit. She put it on right after she opened it and wore it the rest of the day, shoes and all. Next morning, it was the first thing she put on! She keeps saying, "I'm pwincess!"

The look on Holden's face when he opened his new Lego kit...priceless! He spent 6+ hours putting it together. Did I mention he LOVES Legos!

Braden is into his music. Santa was too broke to bring a "real" drum set, plus where in the world would we put it? We gave him a practice pad to get him started, plus some new guitar gear. Guess what I get to listen to now...tap, tap, tap, tap, tap-tap-tap!

Christmas Fun

Each year, we like to make gingerbread houses. I think the hardest part for the boys is not eating all the frosting before it's finished.

This was all daddy's doing! This is actually red frosting from a donut. Kinda looks like Alanna got into momma's lipstick. Nice!

Pre-K Christmas Party

Alanna had her first school Christmas party.

A present just for me!? A new book from Mrs. Brenda!

A new baby doll, Mei Mei. Someone was thinking when they made this one...the blanket and hat are attached by a string so they won't get lost!

Holden's Webelos den is working on their science badge and took a trip to Hunter to check out a black hawk helicopter.

You've GOT to be kidding me!

Alanna and I were vacuuming out my van this afternoon, since she decided to dump ALL the dirt from her shoes onto the floor. She LOVES playing in the dirt on the playground at school and has turned into a walking sandbox! Anyway, I'm vacuuming away and turn around to hear her wailing. She is laying face down on the pavement looking like she's trying to fly like superman with her hands and feet off the ground. She tripped right over the vacuum cord and hit her forehead in the SAME spot she has already hit a gazillion times! OUCH! Huge welt on her head. Daddy told her she needs to put her hands out to catch herself and she said "no, it hurt my hands". Well yes, but better than hurting your head my darling!

OK...a few hugs, kisses and an ice pack later. She decides to balance herself between the arm of the couch and the arm of the chair and swing. I'm in the kitchen and hear a loud smack. (Let me remind you that we currently have concrete floors, not that wood floors would make it any better) Her hand slipped and she lands smack on her face! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! She now has a big fat lip, bloody teeth and a loose front tooth. Oh my!

OK, I also need to mention our post placement visit is in two days! The poor child looks like she's been playing goalie in a hockey game! Maybe I should start having her wear a helmet and mouth peice. I do have some old TaeKwondo gear...

Playing a little catch-up

Sorry to all you dedicated blogger readers out there, I've been a little lazy. Well, actually, life has been so fast paced, I haven't had the chance to sit down and post.

Last year at this time, our business was pretty slow with a staff of 3 in the office and maybe 4+ in the field. This year is thankfully a little different! This may sound weird, but we're back to just Rob and myself...and a booked schedule until mid December. How much work can you fit in a day? We're also moving our office back to our home, where it originally started. Back to the basics to get out of this hole we're in! Press on!

Happy 4th Birthday Alanna!

Since food is Alanna's #1 topic, we bought her a little kitchen set to play with. She thought it was pretty cool!

I bravely put a big pin on her shirt that said "Birthday Girl" for her to wear. Well, of course when we were in the grocery store, this gave her one more reason to talk to EVERYONE in the store. My little social bug!

The day after her birthday, she asked "It's my birthday?". I told her no, it's not your birthday anymore. Your birthday was yesterday. Looking a little disappointed, she "Oh, I'm three?" I guess she thought that being four years old only lasted on her birthday. Silly goose!

The local YMCA hosted a pumpkin patch at the music school where Braden takes guitar lessons. Alanna is still working on her pronunciation. She calls it the Pumkin Catch!

Time to be a little corny...

Hey scarecrow man, what are you laughing at!

Nancy's birthday

One more year until I hit the 40 mark! I'll be using my birthday gift money to go to the hair salon. I think the last time I went was before we went to China. Yikes! Thank you, Thank you!

The Molton!

What better way to end a day at the park than to finish it with a chololate molton! This is our FAVORITE dessert from Chili's . Now that we are five, we have to order two to make sure there was enough to go around!

A Day at the Park

We decided to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and head downtown Savannah to have some fun at one of the parks.

Ready, set, go!

It was a close race!

Not so crazy about hanging from the bar.

Definately not liking hanging upside-down either!

First Cub Scout Camp Out

Holden and Rob went to their first Cub Scout camping trip. It was only one night and about 5 minutes down the road, but they had a fun time! And yes, Rob was the King Tut of all the tent campers there. I suggested he try to borrow a smaller tent from someone, since we only own a 10 person tent. However, he won the biggest test award and was told that next year he gets to be the den leader! Ha! Ha!

Holden got to shoot a bow and arrow and a bb gun. Pretty cool stuff!

Alanna is back Home

I met Grandma and Grandpa to pick up Alanna. She was pretty excited to see me...and of course the first thing she asked was "eat food?!" Is that all this girl thinks about!!! This girl is a little chatterbox too. (So much for the speech delay they said she had. HA!) It's not that she just talks a lot...but she asks the same questions over, and over, and over after you've already answered her. I'm hoping it's due to the lack of language and understanding and that she WILL grow out of this or she just might cause me to go a little crazy! Oh yeah, too late!
