I was so excited to find in our mailbox our I-797 renewal, as our previous approval expires May 7. This form basically allows us to bring an orphan child into the country and adopt her. I looked it over, checking out all the dates, and WHAT?... Bideon?! They spelled my last name wrong! It should be Videon. UGH! Well, what else should I expect. No part of this process has been easy, or without paperwork challenges.
Thankfully, we have a wonderful person working at the local USCIS office. She responded within hours to my email to notify me she is reprinting the form and should have it finished by Monday (due to computer issues). WHEW! Good thing I caught the error now, and NOT while we were in China.
